Cruise Ship Inspection Report
Between the hand sanitizer stations and the staff consistently cleaning the ship throughout the day and night, cleanliness on cruise ships are no laughing matter. Every ship I've ever set foot on takes cleaning and sanitizing the ship very seriously. The Norovirus and other contagious viruses are serious business, especially on a self-contained environment such as a cruise ship.
Often, when a virus does spread to passengers on a particular sailing, the virus is spead due to someone not washing their hands. Whether it's a passenger or crew member, washing your hands consistently (especially after using the restroom) is key to help prevent the spread of cruise ship viruses.
Here are the latest cruise ship cleanliness inspection scores by the Centers for Desease Control and Prevention (CDC). A score of 85 or below is considered unacceptable. I believe the ships are scored annually. If you are in process of considering a new cruise line or ship and are concerned with cleanliness, this list is a a great place to start.
