New Look for Galveston Cruise Ship
The Carnival Ecstasy has been recently renovated and is back in service this week. Based in Galveston, Texas, the Carnival Ecstasy offers 4 and 5 night sailings to Mexico year round.
With Galveston being a reasonable drive from most areas of Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana, this cruise great for a quick and inexpensive getaway. The 4 night sailings goes to Cozumel while the 5 night sailings goes to Cozumel and Merida/Progreso.
The renovations include the following additions or enhancements:
- Carnival Waterworks
- Serenity adult-only retreat area
- Resort-style pool
- Circle 'C'/young teens club (for ages 12-14)
- Additional Lido Deck dining options: Mongolian Wok and Rotisserie
- More balconies! 98 ocean view rooms have been converted to balcony rooms
- 8 Penthouse Suites had their balconies extended
- The forward dining room is now setup for 'Your Time Dining' (open seating) which will begin 10/31/09
- The Internet Cafe has been moved to the Empress Deck 7 midship
- WI-FI access is now available bow to stern
- A variety of new cosmetic enhancements throughout the ship including new carpeting, wall coverings, tile work and new furniture. These enhancements included the dance club, Lido restaurant (buffet), casino, aft lounge, cigar bar, main lounge, piano bar, corridors, public bathrooms, and Owners Suites.
