FAQS – Brown Family Cruise 2014
Are passports required for this cruise?
A valid U.S. passport is strongly recommended for all passengers for this sailing. To apply or renew your passport, please visit http://travel.state.gov/passport. In lieu of a passport, you can still use a certified birth certificate and drivers license, but if there’s an emergency during the cruise requiring you to fly home unexpectedly, a passport is required to fly back into the U.S.
Why did we choose this particular ship and itinerary?
Based on feedback from family members, the Eastern Caribbean was preferred since we’ve already sailed the Bahamas and Western Caribbean on past cruises. Of the ships sailing the Eastern Caribbean, Royal Caribbean has the best option. The Allure of the Seas is a magnificent ship – it’s the largest afloat and has the most amenities and activities compared to any other ship. Can I make installments?
Yes. After the full deposit is made ($500/room), you may make monthly installments as long as the balance is paid by the final payment due date (3/22/14).
Can I still sign up for the cruise after the deposit due date?
Yes, however the rate may be different than what’s quoted. The group rate is locked in until the deposit date. After that, you can still join the group, but the rate will be at the prevailing rate which could potentially be higher.
What happens if the price changes over time?
Prices will continue to fluctuate. The rate can increase or decrease. If it increases, your rate is safeguarded. If it decreases, you can usually get a rate adjustment or an upgrade. As a reminder, the group rate is locked in until the initial deposit due date.
I’m a past passenger with Royal Caribbean. Can I get a discounted rate?
Royal Caribbean does not offer past passenger rates, but they do offer Savings Certificates for select ships and itineraries. Savings Certificates can be found on your Crown & Anchor account on royalcaribbean.com and must be redeemed at the time of deposit.
Can I get a discount if I’m over age 55, military, police, or firefighter?
Royal Caribbean offers discounts for these groups on select ships/sail date, but usually are not available until closer to sailing (usually 2-4 months prior to sailing).
Can I pre-pay gratuities?
Yes, and I suggest you do so it will be one less bill at the end of the cruise. You have a choice of pre-paying gratuities or paying them once onboard. Either way, it will be $84/person.
